Readjusting to home

Mar 24, 2007 09:02

I got home from the LA-Vegas deathmarch last night and, while glad to be home, I woke up this morning with a feeling of severe dislocation. It's not so bad when I have a five or six day trip, but I've found that when my trips hit (or exceed) the seven day mark I end up having a hard time readjusting to the lower intensity of everyday life. Since conventions are both very high energy and extremely regulated as far as activities, when I come home I have a hard time knowing what to do with myself. Should I even get out of bed? Do I need to go somewhere? Even eating can become a chore. I'm glad I have the weekend to decompress, but it's kind of frustrating. Today's plan is to unpack and clean my house somewhat, then pack up again and head over to Dave's to watch the fruitbat (aka kitty Fritz) while Dave's away on his own business trip. This is assuming I can muster the energy to do anything more than sit in front of my computer and stare blankly at the screen. ::sigh:: I'm sure tomorrow will be better, though. It's just tough reacclimating to my regular life!

Pleasant somethings.
