the coming year

Well finally the sun is shining. Summer is definitely coming. I was woken by a wasp battering itself between my window and blinds this morning. and everyone is happier. It's been a long, winter and we've really felt the last couple of weeks since the heating broke and I could only sleep if I covered my head in my duvet.

B is in America and I miss her so much. Since we met in September 2004 we've never been apart for more than 6 days. Today is day 13. She's staying with her Aunt and Uncle in PA and it's snowing so much that some days they haven't been able to leave the house. And what a house! So much space, from my bedroom window I can see into 9 houses, from hers she can see just one...in the distance.

The space it's given me has really helped our relationship. I miss her laugh and smile so much. As 'thisautumn' once said 'distance makes the coco grow fonder'. I can't wait till we're together again.

Going to graduate in just over a month and I can't wait. I plan to learn to drive, focus on karate, save money and then spend it travelling. Philippines (november-december stay with the elvena family), Thailand (stay with jan) Hong Kong (with Lynn's friend), to Japan (hopefully stay with Emi) then to Cali (B's family) and finally Penn State. Can't wait. And hopefully by then I will have decided whether I really want to be a paramedic. Or a cop. Or a filmmaker....

#2: Buy energy saving lightbulbs. They've changed a lot in the last few years. So much so that Gordon Brown (hopefully the future PM - current Chancellor) will ban the sale of incandescent lightbulbs in the UK from 2009. Energy saving ones can be bought in many shapes and sizes now and use 80% less energy, which means they last for almost 6 years and will reduce your energy bill. If you can't afford to replace every bulb at once, change them one at a time starting with the bulb you use the most.
