Bob: Wait here and stay hidden. I’m going in.
Helen: While what? I watch helplessly from the sidelines? I don’t think so.
Bob: I’m asking you to wait with the kids.
Helen: And I’m telling you, not a chance. You’re my husband, I’m with you - for better or worse.
Bob: I have to do this alone.
Helen: What is this to you? Playtime?
Bob: No.
Helen: So you can be Mr. Incredible again?
Bob: No!
Helen: Then what? What is it?
Bob: I’m not…
Helen: Not what?
Bob: Not… I’m not strong enough.
Helen: Strong enough? And this will make you stronger?
Bob: Yes. No!
Helen: That’s what this is? Some sort of work out?
Bob: [shouts] I can’t lose you again!
[calms down]
Bob: I can’t. Not again. I’m not s-strong enough.
Helen: [kisses him] If we work together, you won’t have to be.
Bob: I don’t know what will happen…
Helen: Hey, c’mon. We’re superheroes. What could happen?
I absolutely love this film. I really do. When it first came out, I was kinda like 'eh, I'll wait until it comes out on DVD.' I mean, an animated film about a family of superheroes? What's so new about that? The boy can run fast, the daughter can make force fields & run real fast, the mom's is super stretchy, & the dad's super strong. Eh, won't be missing much.
Luckily, I was wrong.
There's so much about it that I adore. Samuel L. Jackson as Frozone? AWESOME. Plus the whole 'woman, where is super suit!' scene cracks me up every time. Especially since my niece does impersonations of it every once in a while. She makes Honey (Lucious's aka Frozone wife) sound like a southern belle, haha. I love animations, really. I can watch them time & time again. But this? I can watch it over & over again, and yet, the scene above gets me every single time. It kills me. I remember the first time I watch it... ngl, I may have shed a few tears. And then along comes the robot & Violet screaming like mad that ruins the moment, lol. But seriously, this scene... I just die, it's so good.
