'We're being called out, it's show time for the two of us.'
[lala.]

So another year comes to an end & there are many things that remain constant, one of which is, well, memes. Oh, the stealing & sharing of surveys is the way to go.

Snagged from mandy_thewlis.

1) Was 2007 a good year for you?
It truly has been the most memorable.

For a movie that came out this year, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, most definitely. For DVDs & such, Naked & Human Traffic.

Now that is a completely unfair question, but I'm going to have to go with...Nantes by Beirut.

The Flying Club Cup by Beirut & Graduation by Kanye West

The Beecake one - my fanart got recognized by the bass player!

28) Did you drink a lot of alcohol in 2007?
Probably by far, the most of my existence. There was Peppermint Schnapps action, some Sake, plum wine, vodka, kahlua, Bailey's, Irish whiskey, beer, champagne, wine, Jinro, tequila...and some other stuff at Steph's.

Negative.

35) Did somebody treat you badly in 2007?
Probably.

Thousands, I had to get buy a laptop, some furniture, clothes, but a lot of it was from my loan money - oh yeah, rent too. Meh.

37) What was your proudest moment of 2007?
Either getting props from Rick (Martin - bassist from Beecake) that the banner I made was beautiful, being told I was real & genuine from one of my heroes, Greg Beckman, or finally becoming a person - it's a joke I have with people, perfectly summed up as such:
'Yay, you're a senior now! Yay, I'm a person now!' - Harsh, but true.

38) What was your most embarrassing moment of 2007?
Thinking back to it, again, what I said to Lee Pace. I felt like an idiot for saying something so obvious.

39) If you could go back in time to any moment of 2007 and change something, what would it be?
The Lee Pace thing. *shrugs*

40) What are your plans for 2008?

40 More...

1. What did you do in 2007 that you'd never done before?
Walk to school from a place I live. Oh yeah, & being a vegetarian.

None this year.

6. What would you like to have in 2008 that you lacked in 2007?
A JOB!

7. What date from 2007 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
August 16, 2007!! Pushing Daisies, in a cemetery. Seeing David Thewlis dance with his daughter & taking a picture with Lee Pace. =D

8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Graduating high school, moving to a completely new city, living without my parents.

9. What was your biggest failure?
Probably not making the effort to find a job before college.

10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
I have tendonitis in my right wrist & occasionally, my ankles & wrists act up.

11. What was the best thing you bought?
Probably my 15-inch MacBook Pro! Oh Octavius. David Thewlis' novel is up there as well.

12. Whose behaviour merited celebration?
My mom's.

13. Whose behaviour made you appalled and depressed?
Appalled yes, but not depressed. Both my oldest sister & Camille's.

14. Where did most of your money go?
To school and clothes, books, & DVDs.

15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Finally getting out of high school, everything Harry Potter-ness (midnight releases of both OotP & DH!) & the Daisies premiere.

16. What song will always remind you of 2007?
Oh, I have a lot. I can't choose though. But I think I'll go with No Such Thing because we used it for the second semester NDTV credit sequence.

17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Both, happier because I'm making a move towards the career I want to work in, yet sadder because it's hard not being around to help out with stuff in my family.
ii. richer or poorer? Richer; does loan money count? & poorer because...let's not get into that.

18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
Job hunting, socializing.

19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
Being anti-social.

20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Probably the same as the years past, spending time with family.

22. Did you fall in love in 2007?
With books and nature and art and simplicity and photography and music all over again.

23. How many one-night stands?
None of course.

24. What was your favourite TV program?
Pushing Daisies trumped Stargate Atlantis this year by far. It's completely original.

25. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
Not hate, but dislike & find annoying, yes.

26. What was the best book you read?
Toss-up between The Late Hector Kipling & Deathly Hallows. I've been waiting for both for a while & both just blew my mind.

27. What was your greatest musical discovery?
Being introduced to Tokyo Jihen by Perry & Beirut by my sister.

28. What did you want and get?
Octavius, my lovely MacBook Pro.

29. What did you want and not get?
Uh, loads of things. A new acoustic guitar, a DS Lite, a melodica, among other things. Oh & a car. But it's okay. I don't mind.

30. What was your favourite film of this year?
Again, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.

30a. What was your favourite theatrical production of this year?
I didn't see any theatrical productions this year, so I can't say.

31. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I turned 18 - got surprised at midnight by my roommates & their friends with cake. Ate dinner with my aunt, uncles, & cousins in Little Italy and then proceeded to get drunk back at my apartment. Friends from LA drove up to San Francisco & then we walked around downtown SF & met up with another friend who goes to Academy of the Arts, got food, then drank again that night at my apartment.

32. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
If my family was more financially stable, I don't think I would be as scared as I am now.

33. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2007?
It's more girly than it's ever been. I used to not really care much. But now, it's tighter pants, but not like skin tight - I used to wear baggy pants. Fitted tees, shoes. All it really is is just jeans, tee shirts, depending on the weather, a zip up hoody, maybe a scarf. I've kept the necklace thing going though. I love wearing necklaces.

34. What kept you sane?
Internet, music, books. Family (although they were sometimes the cause of me slowly going insane) & friends - online & in real life.

35. Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
OH NOEZ. Absolutely one of the worst questions to ask me cause I wouldn't be able to decide. But I'll have to go with either Lee Pace and David Thewlis. Earlier in the year, it was Joe Flanigan & John Simm.

36. What political issue stirred you the most?
Even though I took an American Politics course this semester, I wouldn't be able to say. I don't pay attention much, but it would either be the war, health care, or the right to gay marriage.

37. Who did you miss?
After moving up to SF, family, Steph, Tim, & out of all the teachers I loved talking to, Beckman the most.

38. Who was the best new person you met?
Dunno. All the new people I've met are so wonderfully random, I can't make a choice. They all have their pros & cons. But it'd be a toss-up between Rachel & Amanda (mandy_thewlis). They are both made of awesome.

39. Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2007.
Things happen for a reason. As much as you want to try and stop them, you can't halt the inevitable.

40. Quote a song lyric that sums up your year.
The times we had / oh when the wind would blow with rain and snow / were not all bad / we put our feet just where they had, had to go / never to go.

Postcards from Italy by Beirut (I'd quote the whole song if I could.)

Have a good one all. Hope it's a blast & I'll see (talk, converse, whatever the circumstances may be) in 2008. Ta!
