Another lie, today. Apparently his mandatory OT ended about a month ago. He told me that it had ended on Tuesday. Something in his voice sounded off, so I messaged S to ask her. I then called Shane out on it. He admitted that he'd been going in so early to spend time with S, didn't think about telling me when it actually ended because he wanted that time, and lied to me this morning because it was the first thing that came to mind when I asked why his alarm was set for when he was normally leaving.
If your spouse's first instinct is to lie to you about something so utterly trivial, you may have something wrong in your marriage...not that I didn't already know that.
So, we're talking via text today. I asked him if there was anything else he was either not telling me or lying about, which actually sparked a conversation. I just hope this one does some good. In either direction.
