Sneaky!
OK, so, a few weeks ago, in a moment of extreme impulsiveness, I dragged Udi to the Apple store and got a new laptop that has dual core intel processors. So far, so good, but Udi insisted I wait to buy extra ram (it came with 512) because it would be cheaper to get online. So, I took Matzah Ball, Jr. home, only to discover that having two fancy processors doesn't do much when most of the programs require tons of memory since they need to emulate the old PowerPC processor, or something. I don't understand it. So, we ordered a 512 chip and it finally came today. Being the "computer scientist" that I am, I opened up Jr. and guess what I found??? Apple didn't just put one 512 chip in the computer. They used up both slots with 256 chips! Gaaahhhhhh! Not nice! I put the new one in, but nothing happened, so, either I don't know what I'm doing, the new ram doesn't work, or something else sneaky is going on. I'll have to wait until Udi comes home to help. Sigh!
