Here's a poem I wrote when my uncle Victor died in 2003. I read it in front of the whole family at the dinner after the funeral. Very emotional. But I love this poem. And I just found it on Poetry.com. I wrote it for my uncles 3 kids...
Daddy
Daddy, daddy I miss you so,
I really do with all my soul.
The tears keep rolling down my cheeks,
people say it'll last for weeks.
I sit up at night and cry,
and I ask God why you had to die.
Just as I think my heart has broke,
something deep inside me awoke.
I realized you were in a good place;
looking at my siblings I can see you in their face.
I'll never stop loving you,
no matter what I do.
You'll always be my "daddy" forever,
and no one can change that, "not ever! "
