Good Idea: Going to visit your friends for the weekend.
Bad Idea: Allowing said friends to convince you to spend $200 at a Celtic festival.
Ouch. My bad. I suck.
Well, I've been dreaming of owning a pair of pirate boots for years now and now I do. However, I was also talked into buying a bodice and a "wrench shirt" to go along with said boots. This I feel quite guilty over, despite the fact my friends also bought ones for themselves. Apparently I do look rather nice in them but... when am I ever going to wear them?! >_< I'd consider perhaps trying to re-sell them were it not for my severe doubt that there are many people out there who'd be interested in a 28 1/2 inch bodice. Or, you know, size 6 boots.
(For the curious, the boots were $80, the bodice $58, and the shirt $38. NOT within my typical splurging range.)
Hm. Damn the special crack I say. And of course I would pick THIS month to suffer temporary financial insanity: my parents' anniversary, new computer purchase, upcoming permenant accounts, and various medical bills. Thank GOD I found out I have 3 paid vacation days. And, honestly, we did have fun. Saw Spiderman 3, was forced to begin reading the 6th Harry Potter book (so far a marked improvement over the 5th in my opinion), did lots of eating out, discovered Coldstone Creamery's dark chocolate icecream (♥), saw lots of cool stuff including a joust at the Celtic festival, and so on.
In other news, I have quite a few BPAL reviews to post! Also, a key lime pie martini really IS as delicious as the actual pie.
Oh, also the lj name I've been wanting to make my ship community is finally open. But apparently I need to buy a rename token to use it? But I don't want to rename my journal; I just want to create a new community!
