Picking Nits Like Nobody's Business
Got some more pages in the Nitpicker's Guide done last night (and by "more", I mean "one") which put me in the mood to get some more stuff done for the House of Pain.
Hopefully, if things financially keep going well, I can maybe launch the site shortly after I leave my job to get ready for Japan.
So my mom knows this woman at her book club, who works with a lady who has a Japanese daughter-in-law. Right now her husband is overseas on deployment, and she's a little lonely since she doesn't really speak English (she does go to community college every day to an immersion program, but that's gotta be pretty tough...especially transitioning from Japan's public transit to Septa of all things). My mom got her email, so I sent her an offer of friendship today to see if she wants to hang out some times and chat it up in Nihongo. I could use the practice, and if I'm using powers for good, that's pretty awesome.
I made it clear in the email that if she's not comfortable with it, to please say so, since I don't want her feeling pressured into anything either.
Communicating with Japanese people I don't already know is hard, guys. But I'm pretty excited about it, if she agrees!
