So my third chapter of Sushi Queen went over well with my mother, my classmates, and my published author professor, so I take that as a good sign.
Once I go back and re-edit Chapters 1 and what will probably be 4 or 5, I'll post some excerpts.
My presentations for Orvell's class are done too, since I went on Norman Mailer today and did the best I think I've done on a presentation so far (since my others were an A- and B+, that's inspiring).
So, insanely real dream last night, which came totally out of nowhere. I dreamt I was getting on the Yamanote soto-mawari at Shinjuku, during a random trip I just decided to take this week. As we pass Yoyogi, I go over to sit down and note that next to the doors on the edges of the seat now have a black, woven netting for some reason. I reflect for a moment on how funny that seems to me, pondering the reasons of its installation, when someone comes over, takes my hands in theirs and goes: "What the heck you doing here?"
It's Korin. I go to correct her, noting that "hell" would be appropriate in this situation, and she makes an expression that's 100% Kayo. As soon as I think that, she turns into Kayo.
She's in a group of friends (people I don't recognize) and they're all talking to me too and we're saying how crazy it is that I turned up randomly in April and didn't bother to mention it to anyone. Kayo asks where I'm staying and I remark that I'm going to call Yukkii in a bit and see if I can crash with her. Kayo's having none of this, and insists that I come to her parents' place and stay there, at least until after her birthday on Saturday.
Then there's this awkward moment where I realize that I have no luggage and we decide to head straight to Kawasaki, and I figured out it was a dream.
Man, my allergies are killing me lately.
Looking forward to relaxing this weekend; I changed my Workshop to Joan's today, sent out Kayo's birthday card Tuesday, and tomorrow's my last day of work for the week. We're celebrating Anna's birthday (the 10th) Saturday night at the Belgian, which should be awesome. I miss everyone.
Finally, here's a treat:
(As you can see, it was very difficult to translate this one.)
