So today I got up at 6:30 and had Mom drop me off in Newark so that I could accompany Leslie and her sister Elise to Delaworld.
Despite how cheesy and boring the whole thing is, we somehow managed to have a good time; Les and I went to the bakery and Lieb's in the morning, hit Trabant for lunch, and meditated on how sad it is to be graduated in Gore while Elise scheduled her first semester's classes. At work I heard about Delanie, Lindsay, Eddie and Binh's crazy night at East End, where they got "thrown out" by a bitchy bouncer.
To be honest, the whole thing was sort of depressing on some level; I was technically an alumnus when they asked who was, the movie was exactly the same as the one I'd watched four years ago, they kept talking about stuff offered at UD and being excited over being a Blue Hen etc. Just made me sad that college is already over. Sometimes I just can't believe it.
Around 2:30 we bounced from Delaworld and hit 7Eleven for some Slurpees to bring back to Towne Court while we all fell asleep during a surrealist film with a naked boy, desperadoes riding naked Franciscan monks, trippy scarab beetles, and a strange lesbian scene preceded by fingering a kiwi until it resembled a vagina, among other things.
We tried to leave when the weather started looking ominous, but we ended up locked in the apartment for a good twenty minutes while we took the door apart and tried to escape. Finally the lock just clicked open on its own and we were able to get out, but it was strange and a first time for all three of us. Leslie and Elise drove me home, where I'm sitting here all excited over the impending summer thunderstorm.
I love summer thunderstorms.
