Just returned from the gala première of Dragonball. While I dun get wat's so gala about it without any of the stars, it was nice cos we were early and I chose the best seats, imho, which were in the middle of the cinema.
The show is your typical full series crammed into a relatively short movie (probably cos was produced by Stephen Chow). Plot was straight forward and characters were not developed at all. There was passable effort at it but no follow ups.
Anyway, the best part of the movie was not the predictable plot nor the usual effects but THEY SHOWED THE TRAILER FOR THE HALF-BLOOD PRINCE!!! Muahahahaha... And it looks dammmmmmmn good! All dark and moody. Even the title was in black and white. Time to read the book again... forgotten the story already... ^_^;
They also show the trailer for X-men origins: Wolverine. The trailer starts off like a normal war movie up till the time the adamantium is infused into his body. And then after that, it still looks like a gritty war movie. Can't wait for this one either.
Oh, and if you are catching Dragonball, dun forget to stay for the credits. There's a little bit more of the predictable plot after Stephen Chow's name.
