Yesterday it hit nearly 100* here, so we decided to go to the fossil beds and explore deeper in the woods. This meant that we spent an hour splishing through the mostly ankle-deep brook and seeing fawns and gorgeous dragonflies and generally being cool and happy. By the time we got home and hit the pool, though, the thunderstorms hit, so we got a quick dip, listened to the rain, then came back to nap with kitties.
I spent today checking out the Eco-Flea Market (just like a regular flea market, only with recycled cardboard signs reminding me of how much water I could save with a low-flow showerhead and exhortations against bottled water), then checked out prices on garden forks and hoses. It is still hot, but with the windows open to catch the breeze, the kitties and I are dandy with just the fan. I guess it really is all about the humidity.
Internally, I am tackling the hole grief/depression thing and doing OK, I think. I keep sending myself out to DO stuff and get exercise and interact with the world instead of defaulting to hiding under the bed. So far, so good. I may still be depressed, but I am doing it with a tan.
