(no subject)
I've been pretty active lately. I've been going to the gym on days that I don't play racquetball or tennis. I feel a bit better than a week or two ago. I'd be interested to see if I've lost any weight. Who knows?
I just turned off "Pulp Fiction" playing on Bravo. The way that Bravo has chopped up that movie, it's only an "ok" movie. Tarentino would probably be pissed. I turned it off after the "Bonnie Situation" part was playing. You know the part... It cuts back to Jules and Vincent shooting up Brett and his friends from the beginning, and then the guy jumps out of the bathroom with the revolver and just completely misses them. Afterwards, when they're driving Marvin back somewhere and Vincent accidentally pulls the trigger when the car hits a bump. "Oh man! I just shot Marvin in the face!" Hilarious. Maybe my favorite part of the movie. Here's the Bravo version: Vincent turns around to talk to Marvin, rear windshield turns red, "I just shot Marvin in the face!" and then it fades to black and they're in the next scene talking to Tarentino about his coffee. I'm guessing that Bravo has cut about 20 minutes worth of the flick in 3-5 minute chunks. It's just not the same movie....
Also, concerts are good. I saw the Dave Matthews Band last weekend. What a show! Everyone of the guys in that band are just amazing musicians. Nearly all of their songs last between 8 and 20 minutes when they play them live. They just play around the theme, change it up, let each other take a "solo" (more of just passing the lead around, but it's terrific) and then catch back up to the theme, sing the next verse, then start all over. Fucking amazing. Puccio and I are going to see a small band called "Ours" at Social next week, which I look forward to. Their first album "Distorted Lullabies" was good. I haven't heard their latest album, "Precious," but I hear it's ok. I hope they put on a good show. I'm also considering getting tickets for Incubus (likely) and Weird Al (unlikely). I figure that I may as well catch as many concerts as I can while I can. Last, but definitely not least, puccio has let me know that Pearl Jam will be in Kissemee October 8th. I am SO in for that one. Let me know if you're interested, and we'll make this shit happen.
