Chillers last night was a lot of fun. We chilled in the Big Belly Brewery all night. It was very uncrowded in the back, and they gave out free "shots" (melonballs and like drinks that are not strong and typically not shots) every half hour. So on top of dollar drinks, I was getting free alcohol. The best part was at 1 they had "the world famous gold rush." Free shots of goldschlagger. Man, that was what fucked me. Since there were four in my party, and none of them were partaking in the "gold rush," I decided to have four free shots, as opposed to one. I feel awful still. Also, I have a final in 4 hours.
All said, I really needed last night. It was great to just cut loose and hang out being low-key without the bullshit that occurs quite naturally around my circle of friends and brothers. I'll probably be in Panama City for a week or so this summer, which I look forward to. People in Orlando have been getting on my nerves recently. So many of my friends are so god damned cocky that I need a break from them. There are a few things that I'm pissed off in particular, so "Fuck You." If you think it applies to you, you're probably right.
Another "Fuck You" to Dubbya. Sure Saddam Hussein was/is an asshole. I think everyone knows that. However, I have long felt duped by Bush for being worked up to support the War on Iraq. The two main points he used to justify the efforts were Iraq's alleged attempts to purchase yellowcake and make Nuclear weapons (faulty intelligence pinned on the British) and the claim that "Saddam Hussein aids and protects terrorists, including members of Al Qaeda" (quotation taken from last year's State of the Union Address). Turns out that although Al Qaeda attempted to garner Iraq's support in its efforts, it was repeatedly ignored and received neither aid nor protection.

HERE Many I know may label this as anti-Bush propaganda, or that it's liberal media hoopla (being from the Times) but, no sir, it isn't. This is an article about the findings of the bi-partisan, congressionally-appointed, commission investigating the 9/11 attacks.
I understand that Bush launched the attacks on Afghanistan out of necessity. I also understand that Bush may have really believed that Iraq had long-standing ties with Al Qaeda - Presidents work with imperfect information and must heavily rely on gut feelings. But Bush launched an unheard of preemptive war on a sovereign nation that we had no right or business to invade, occupy, and overthrow. The presidential saying is that "the buck stops here." I am blaming the deaths of my countrymen, fighting a war on behalf of their Commander in Chief, on our President, George W. Bush. Fuck You.
It was hoped that Iraq would end up a beacon of democracy for the middle-east. It is instead a drowning pool of American blood.
