1) Hear cat hacking.
2) Hurriedly restrain dog as dog tries to go investigate. Hand dog to husband.
3) Go to investigate.
4) Find skittish, formerly feral cat by the Christmas tree attempting to vomit. Note that cat looks terrified at the big, scary human lumbering into the room.
5) Speak to cat in soothing voice, saying that she isn't in trouble for vomiting.
6) Watch from across the room as cat succeeds in vomiting.
7) Notice that cat has thrown up 8 inches of ribbon, that she has apparently chewed off of one of the Christmas presents.
