Religious Schooling

Thank you for the disclaimer! But I agree with you, and I am extremely vigilant about what my child is being taught in school and am not shy about voicing my displeasure when I believe his education is not proceeding in the right direction (see my rant the other day). And my husband and I were regulars in this congregation for 8 years, and did a very thorough investigation of their curriculum and standards prior to enrolling our son. I would also advise parents whose children go to such schools to make every effort to have their child participate in activities outside of school, in a more diverse environment. We have done this with J through sports, summer camps, etc., so he sees that not all children are like his schoolmates.

And, for the record, one of his classmates is being raised by two dads, so at least on that front we're not worried.

Also, my heart goes out to these two unfortunate girls. I hope they will get past this somehow. The article didn't say if they're still friends, but I hope they have been able to support each other at least through this ordeal.

I (with appropriate "I'm not a parent" disclaimer) think that's an excellent suggestion.
