We're Going to be Friends
After reading glowing reviews from several of you, I bought the Curious George soundtrack last night. It's really great. The songs are just so cheerful. They make me want to go outside and play.
Katie is home this weekend! Totally unplanned. Jack started talking about how much he missed his girl...which got me missing her a ton, too. So I went and got her. Technically, we've only seen her for 9 days or so since she got home from Disney World. That's not nearly enough. :)
I'm going to make a red velvet cake this weekend. It's been ages since I've made a cake when there hasn't been a birthday or a party or something. But this one is for no reason at all. I just feel like some red velvet cake.
I would also like some snow flurries, please. We haven't seen even one flake this winter. I'm not asking to be snowed in or anything (although that would be cool, especially since Katie's here)...just a dusting so I can sit by the window and watch it come down.
The best snowstorm we ever had was in 2000. 24 inches of snow! Work was closed for a full week and school was closed for even longer. A whole week to just hang out together, with no obligations and no place to go. We played games and watched movies and I read 'The Princess Bride' to the whole family. It was awesome.
