Happy New Year, Saumensch!

I'm back from Oklahoma and have brought a head cold along with me. My back is stiff, my muscles ache, but I'm happy. I've seen all the family I could, which is almost everyone in Oklahoma. I ate a lot. Exercised a little. Saw an old friend. Decided to let them go. Don't cry for me Argentina. They let me go a long time ago. Read the book club book. Finished a really fun book, though fun's not the right word. I'll probably suggest it for the book club. All while reading it I thought, Cassandra would love this, Rothko would love this, Lisa would love this, and on and on.

Also, I decided I'm going to have resolutions this year. I didn't do them last year.

1. Finish staining the deck and fence.
2. Buy only food, Milo things, and gifts. (I am allowing myself to buy clothes when I reach my goal next month.)
3. Reach my goal next month :)

The first one is function where as the second and third are form. Jesus, Mary, and Joseph that deck has been going on 5 months now partially painted.

Number 2 brings me to a funny story. I make lists. Lots and lots of lists. From grocery to to-do, lots and lots of lists. So, I came upon a list in my handwriting recently. It had one thing written on it "Cunt - Not Buying It", and I thought "well, yeah". Had I really needed to write it down that I wasn't purchasing pussy? Then after laughing a while I realized it was two separate book recommendations. Cunt, a history of the word by the author of the vagina monologues, and not buying it, a year in the life of two spend-thrifts in New York City. Separate they are intriguing but a little dull. Together-WOW!
