I don't understand computers.

I was going to send a friend a link to our work website.  I typed into my Firefox browser  rossandwhite and then hit Ctrl-Enter (which adds the www. and the .com), and up pops a site for Engelhardt Enterprises.  I go and tell our AR/OM and the we go show our "IT" guy.  He types in our domain name and it comes up fine.  ( Read more... )

So which of you IT/Tech savvy persons can explain this for me?

Every once in a while at work, I go to print something and get an error that there is a printer problem (don't know the exact wording of the message window). What happens is that my computer loses communication with the printers attached to the server.

.... we're getting a new system/software at work.  ..... we're designing some of the forms using some version of Crystal Reports (I've never used it before).   C's computer wasn't able to access the crystal reports program and was giving a win32.dll kernel error.   My brilliant deduction was that maybe since she hadn't run ANY Windows updates in ( Read more... )

I am becoming increasingly frustrated at work.  We are in the process of learning our new software (Syspro).  In previous jobs learning new software has been a process of a few weeks.  This so far is 3+ months and counting.  Of course, it takes longer when sessions are only once or twice a week (less when averaged over that entire period).  ( Read more... )

To recap, I bought a new laptop at Best Buy in ....
