these past few weeks have been nothing but hecticness for me. other than the overwhelming burden of school, and work, my band had its first show last sunday. i had to bust my ass to seel tickets, make shirts, design stickers, and on and on and on. i had absolutely no free time to do anything. copymax was basically my home for the week before the show. anyways, it all led up to an amazing show. it was our first show which made it even more nerveracking in my opinion. anyways, a lot of people came to the show and there was a even a line outside the door before the doors opened. i've never seen that at a show i've been in before. i was allowed to hang out in all the v.i.p. spots unlike in the past. that was a plus as well. so anyways, i left shane's early to get to peabody's and set up our merch table and check in with tony and ryan. 2 hours later when the rest of the band got there, i realized that dan and shane had forgotten our guitars. i was pissed. anyways, i called wes and he said none of our guitars were mixed in with their gear. mike's dad (my stolen hero's gutiarist) drove off with their equipment and held them up a few hours too. so dominic and i drove back to shane's from peabody's and found the guitars sitting in the middle of the practice space. i don't see how they could be so blind. anyways, we got back and hung out with everybody that came. we were the third band and i was very excited, yet scared as hell to play. the crowd moved up when we played too, instead of hanging around in the back like they had for the other bands. it was pretty exciting because i didn't recognize the majority of the people that were leaning on the stage. now i was scared. so, we don't get a soundcheck and go into the first song. there was no sound coming out of my monitors and i all i could hear was my amp, which i forgot to crank up to the right setting. so basically, i couldn't hear myself or anybody else in the band. we played decent enough though, everyone said we were good. but i'm still upset because we sound so much better at practice when we can all hear each other play. oh well, it happens, and it was our first show. anyways, we sold out of the shirts i busted my ass on, which was awesome, and we made all of our money back. here are some pictures from the show...
