I forgot to mention...
June 2 was not only Commencement for me, but also the announcement of the first annual Jester Awards, the newly put-together awards banquet for excellence in high school musical theatre. Wichita Collegiate School topped the nominations list with 25, covering three shows, Godspell, The Scarlet Pimpernel, and Jekyll and Hyde. Collegiate came out with 6 awards, including Best Actress, Best Actor, and Best Musical, all three to Collegiate's production of Jekyll and Hyde (Actress - Sabine Heath as "Emma Carew", Actor - Marland Chang as "Henry Jekyll/Edward Hyde") I myself was nominated for my Supporting Roles in Godspell as "John the Baptist/Judas" and Jekyll and Hyde as "Bishop of Basingstoke/Newsboy." I didn't win, but I was happy enough to be nominated.
Summer, thank goodness, the time for relaxation. So yesterday, I started developing a website that I've been meaning to put together for quite some time now - pictures of my production of Songs for a New World. You can view it
here. I'll post the address at the bottom again.
And...I applied for a job with Vector Marketing, Inc. yesterday, and got an interview this morning. And I got the job! Vector works exclusively with the sales of products by Cutco Cutlery, which manufactures kitchen knifes and accessories, and home and garden tools, as well. I start training on Wed. June 13, so wish me luck :) I get paid quite well, too: $14.75 per appointment.
And time has given me the chance to finally fill out some of my Michigan necessities out - I'm set to head up to Ann Arbor for summer orientation from Monday, July 29 to Wednesday, July 31. I'll be registering for classes at that time. And in addition, I've already registered my "uniqname" which has given me a new email address where you can reach me once the school year starts (the address works now, but I won't be looking at it as often as I do with my earthlink account.) It is
njdiego@umich.edu. (make sure to remove the nospam part from the email address.)
That's it! More later :)
