Movin' back North
Hey all,
It's been a LOOONG while since I've been on this site.. I'm just lazy I guess.
Anyway, for those of you that care to know, I will be moving back up towards Sacto at the end of the month. I'll be in the lovely town of Galt, where the men are men and the sheep are scared. But it's not a bad place to live, and my dad has a 10 acre ranch out there, so we won't be alone.
I work from home these days for a company based in Montréal, Québec, so I can actually live anywhere in North America. It seemed like now would be a good time to get closer to the family.
What else has been going one since whenever the hell I posted last....?
Well, a good friend started a film production company in Santa Monica, so I've helped him out with a few things. I've accidentally been placed as an extra on a few prime-time and syndicated shows, and I am currently helping him with some of the script ideas for an upcoming HBO series. It's interesting stuff, but I still prefer engineering.
For those of you that didn't know, my wife and I had a little 'un about 14 months ago. He's a lot of fun and it's great to watch him grow and develop every day!
I've started my own company and somehow I am still a direct employee of three other companies. It keeps me busy. It doesn't seem to keep me out of trouble, though.
I will be a tenured engineer next year, after which I plan to get my PE license. It won't mean a lot to my primary employer, but I think it would be fun to have.
I hate to admit it but I've gotten used to Southern California. Maybe getting back up North will do me some good!
There are probably many, many other things, but these are the big items.
