l_j scribe (Prompt 44)
This week's lj_scribe prompt, "The DNA test proved" ... proved too great a temptation for a man who lives for the Maury Povich "baby daddy" DNA shows. I know, "a sadistic one are you" says Yoda... schadenfreude mayhaps... I just know that whether it is the smarmy punk refusing responsibility dropping his head in shame, or the "You were the only one I slept with" liar running backstage to weep when her certainty is shattered, I find it fascinating. Here is my entry.
A Limerick Inspired By Maury Povich
The results of the test were announced
His feelings of joy were just trounced
It was such a bother
That he was the father
As Maury so smugly pronounced
Not sure why I always revert to limericks, but it seemed the perfect vehicle for the content. Though I did need to cheat the length of the last line a tad to make it just right.
