Jim had seen the notice a little earlier. There were times Jim forgot just how fast Samantha was growing. At over two and a half years, she was finally able to be put into preschool if they decided to do so. He wasn't about to sign Sam up without telling Pam, though, so he left to return to the hut, Sam in tow.
Pam wasn't around when they got back. They eventually ended up on the floor together, as Sam had decided it was art time and she wanted to play with her crayons. He had only taken the black one, and idly drew a stick figure as he watched her make patterns on the paper with hers. It would keep her busy until Pam showed up. He wouldn't suggest it in front of her until she was around
All he needed was to get an idea into Sam's head, only to have to tell her she couldn't do it, after all. The girl had one impressive ability to have tantrums.
