It'd been a few hours since Jim had realized he was completely without a voice. It'd freaked him out at first, though seeing it was some sort of island thing had changed that feeling to mild annoyance. It didn't help Pam had calmed down and just found it hilarious now. He knew he didn't blame her. He would be messing with her too if he were in his shoes.

Still, he had no idea how long this was going to last, and had come to the Compound looking for a notebook to write in to convey what he couldn't say. If he was going to be stuck like this for some undetermined amount of time, he wasn't going to continue talking in hand motions or wasting any of Pam's sketchbook paper.

The bookshelf was not without it's sense of humor. After three searches of the shelves, all he could find was a small, girly pink notebook to write in. He just glared at the cover, mouth set in a thin, unamused line.

It was going to be a long day.
