Jim was about as ready as he could be with all the wedding plans. Everything would be simple, but it was the best he could offer her, and she seemed happy enough to make him not feel disappointed he couldn't do more. It was one thing he couldn't help here, and it wasn't from a lack of trying, at least.
Pam was out with Samantha, so he was making sure his suit was all in order to be worn. He had been getting pieces of it for months now, and knew the box has done it just to make him sweat. With the final piece given a few days ago, he tried on the whole thing, pleased that everything was mostly in order. He'd have to see if he could find a tailor to hem up his pants a little, but honestly, besides that, it was perfect.
And he'd been worried.
He'd just been about to take it off when he realized something was in the pocket of his jacket. He reached in and pulled out
two matching wedding rings, along with a tiny note saying To Jim. He just stared at them like he was expecting this all to be some sort of joke and it'd disappear, but there it was.
He would've kept staring, in fact, if it wasn't for the knock on the door. If the two of them weren't supposed to be out a lot longer than it was, he would've worried about getting out of the suit. Instead, he just put the rings back into the pocket and headed over to open the door to see who it was.
