I'm not ashamed to say that I truly almost shat my pants a little while ago.
I went out for a run around the block, because I'm trying to get myself into half-decent shape so that I can play hockey. At the corner of my street there is a soccer field that is just across the way. As I'm running, I see the silhouettes of at least 10 deer, all running towards the woods at the sound of my clonking footsteps. I thought it looked pretty cool, like a stampede or something. And as I go to make a left turn, a fucking deer comes roaring from the other direction trying to catch up with the herd (or gander, or flock, or school, or whatever the hell a bunch of retarded deer would be called). Granted I don't know much about deer, but this had to be like a 67-point buck. I never even saw it sitting there.
The motherfucker was on 'roids or something, I'd bet on it. Even though it wasn't THAT close to my path (it was, say, 20 feet in front of me), I was still convinced for about 1/10th of a second that I was going to die. It was probably the most scared that I've ever been in my entire life. Except for the time when I was 9 and my mom's alarm clock went off and I thought the house was on fire.
Another finalist for the "Scared Shitless Award" would also have to be the time when I was 5 and riding my bike with my dad. He was running and I was riding along side with my golden, training-wheeled bike that was liable to spontaneously disassemble itself at any given point in time. If that wasn't scary enough, it started to thunderstorm like a bitch. And then I saw lightning for the first time, like not just the light in the sky but an actual bolt that struck the ground. So there you go -- there's my top 3: 1) caught in a T-storm, 2) Deer trauma, and 3) thinking the house was on fire and running outside in my underwear. BAM.

I always feel compelled to judge my new classes after the first week, so I'll say that my Physics class seems cool, Econ is pretty much the same as the last course, and Bio 132 could possibly be this semester's Sleepy Time. No learning, just a 2.0 and a fuck load of sleep. Bio 131 was alright because, even though I'm not that interested in science, the teacher did a good job holding my attention. This class is way different. I'm already fearing that I'm going to at some point contract Narcolepsy. Stay tuned.
And Journalism class seems fun. I'm going to interview my video productions teacher from last year and write an article for the paper. Even though I bet there's only like 4 people who actually read the school paper, it's still a good deal. Maybe I'll post it when I'm done and you can tell me if it's okay. Until then, I'll be reading old Cara Brewer articles to fill my little heart with joy. Good night.
