human touch in a lonely place
Just posted a long-ass email to Prof LKY. Haven't corresponded with him since the end of Summer...Hope he'll forgive me for that xx Still remember him teaching us how to sing World of Our Own (The Seekers) during Tort lessons. We started corresponding because he sent me an email the day before my Tort paper to tell me not to give up, which meant a lot to somebody who was dying a little with every day the exam drew nearer to. I didn't even tell him anything at all.
Contrary to the stereotypes that others may have of us "law peepz", law school is full of amazing people. I may not have many best friends here, but I'm sure as hell surrounded by people who care not just about themselves but also the people around them... peers and professors alike. Sometimes I feel a little estranged in this place and amidst different cliques of people... but all in all, I feel like I belong...and that there're always gonna be people that I can count on. It's that sense of knowing that keeps me in peace (: I think it's important to retain that sense of humanity because what is justice without humanity?
Above all, prof Rathna and her undying, unwavering capacity to love each and every one of us from the unbiased unadulterated kindness of her heart will forever be my inspiration and role model till the day I die. If not for her, I would have lost my way completely. Because of her, I've learned how one life can touch so many others.
