Flash Frozen, Fresh to You!

Yes, I am still alive...and finally back at work today. Ugh, I'm actually glad about that, because I was getting serious cabin fever, if you can believe it! So much for thinking this would be "just another week", though. @_@

Yesterday, my Dad was able to get to work (although not easily, I guess), but I had horrible breathing issues (the sudden coldness, on top of the flu shot I had last week, just plain piled up on me) so I stayed home (at good ol' Strandyland, aka the parentals' house). My Mommy took good care of me and made sure I was comfortable, though. *SMILE* Given these sudden seasonal limitations, I also stayed another night at the parents', as the tone of my Dad's voice upon getting home last night was that of a person who wouldn't recommend going anywhere on the road (it was still somewhat icy). So, I took that as a hint to stay put another night. If you could see the hills leading to/from their neigbhourhood, you'd understand the paranoia; in fact, there was still a car stranded on the closest hill this morning. Evil, evil hills, I tell ya - and every way out of there requires going up at least one! Oh sure, they were great for sledding down as a kid, but now...not so much. EEEEHIVIL! (Sorry, just had to get that off my chest, LOL.) My cats kept me warm and smothered me with lurve, so it was all good. Although last night, I slept in THE COMFY CHAIR that used to be at my Grandma's, so then I felt a little sad about that, because I miss her, but it did allow for a good night's rest (beats a couch, and my bed isn't there anymore, and I wasn't exactly going to crawl into bed with my parents, eeeewww). So, yeah. I'll be able to go back to the "other" house tonight (yay for warm clothes and my own bed - oh how I've missed it so). I still feel like crap today, but being the end of the month, I knew there would be work waiting for me to get done. So, I'm here, and I'll need to catch up on comments/entries later. Talk about a wild past few days, though!

At last the snow and ice has given way to rain and slightly warmer temps; it isn't all melted off, but it's a start. After two days of closed schools, the kids in the area got one last "perk" of starting 2 hours late, but they too had to get back to "the grind". I just hope this weather is over with and we won't be seeing a "real" Winter now. I swear if it happens again I'm heading to the Tropics (anyone want to join me...LOL). I don't do cold well at all. And it seems we've set a new "all-time" record for moisture in Washington, at least for November, if not any month on record...it was something like 15.63 inches (and that's mainly in the past few weeks alone). Yow...I'm surprised we aren't our own island by now.

So, that's pretty much all I have to say for now; I am seriously doped up on allergy and cold/flu meds right now so my brain isn't working that well. That and I had/have serious caffeine withdrawal that isn't pretty. Must get back on track! I'll work on catching up this weekend, I hope.

It also sounds like my cousin Brian's wife will be induced possibly tomorrow...so there may be a "newbie" to talk about quite soon! Not sure what his name is yet, they have changed their minds several times, but I think once they see him they'll figure it out. (Well, we can hope!) Last I heard it was going to be Brock, but I don't know for sure, LOL. The Doctors said at their last appointment he was a good 7 1/2 pounds, and I wouldn't be surprised if he's about 8 pounds now. Methinks we need to start a "Baby Pool" at work PDQ! Edit, 4:52 p.m. Okay, so the Doc officially told Brian and Kelli to come to the Hospital tomorrow around 7 a.m. for induction and expect she'll pop before dinner time (what they consider dinner I have no idea). I have put my official guess into the pool of an 8 lb., 5 oz., 19 1/2 inch long baby boy (okay, so they already know he's a boy, so that's a "freebie"). I think he could be born around, oh, I'll say 4:32 p.m. tomorrow. I think all the "winner" gets is bragging rights, though. We'll see what happens! Gah, everyone's having babies - I feel so behind in life! ;_;

And let's just pretend tomorrow isn't...yeah, let's just not. I am SO not ready for another Holiday; I'm not even sure I remember celebrating the past couple of years! @_@

Edit: Wow, this entry just totally ended up being unintentionally rambly; I guess that's good enough reason to add a new tag to my collection! Woo.

weather, the airing of grievances, teh sickies, family, work, evil hills of doom!, drugs are good, unintentional rambling
