(no subject)
So last night I dreamed I told my dad I was moving to California. And he tried to kill me. With a knife. Several of them, actually.
Speaking of California, I had a very nice conversation on the phone with a customer who has basically lost everything. He called because he needed help putting off his bill for a while, while he tries to sell his house.
"It's not going to get any better," he told me. "There aren't any jobs. Even if we make changes, we won't see results for a few years. I'm trying to sell my house so I can get out."
"Oh, wow, good luck with that. With the market the way it is.... I'd sell my place too, but I don't think I'd get any bites."
"Thanks. Yeah, I'm trying to go back to California-"
"Oh my god, me too! I'm not even kidding-"
"Yeah, I used to live there. I was in San Diego for nine years, and my parents got sick and I had to come back to Michigan, and then I got stuck here."
"I've never been, but I have a friend who lives south of L.A. I'd be heading there."
"I don't like L.A, but as long as you're on the outskirts, it's nice. It's expensive, but you can do well with a roommate, as long as you're careful."
"Yeah, it's something to look forward to, at least, you know? I don't have to be stuck here forever."
"Exactly. It's all that gets me through the day."
"Well, I wish you the best of luck, sir."
"You too, hon. Maybe I'll see you out there."
"Yeah. Maybe. :)"
And speaking of work, I had a talk with the boss that went like this, basically: "You need to make enough sales by the end of the week to bring up your numbers, or you're going to have to leave."
So, uh. Yeah.
And with that in mind, I'm cleaning my house with the eye of a person who thinks they may be moving, and unable to take a lot of things with them when they go. I'm trying to decide what I can take, what I can store, what I can sell on Ebay and what I can donate. I have this tea set from China I'm trying to learn something about... My grandma's co-worker brought it back from China and I have no idea how it works. Apparently it's fully functional, I just don't know how it works. Any info would be nice. Thinking of maybe putting it on EBay or something.

I'm also considering putting my Addy Walker doll and all up for sale. I'd hate to part with her, but realistically, I don't have any use for her any more and I don't plan on having kids to pass her on to. So I dunno. She's...well-loved, so I don't expect to get any serious cash for her, but I have her bedroom set and quite a few outfits for her. She'd make a nice starter set for some hopeful who's parent don't want to drop $100+ on a new doll.
I also have a massive collection of ceramic cats I collected in my youth I don't really see any reason to keep. I'll have to take inventory.
