This whole home selling and buying thing is scorching past at an amazingly rapid pace.
Today is the deadline for the buyers to tell me what repairs they want on my house. (I suspect that since they haven't already requested them, there probably won't be any.) The appraisal on my house in Baltimore is happening today, and that should take care of the final contingency on that contract.
Inspection on the DC house is tomorrow, and my mortgage loan is approved. (My lender works fast. And apparently wants to throw money at me with little or no documentation, given that I have one form to fill out and fax back with a copy of my driver's license.)
TO DO:
- Fax disclosures to lender.
- Call homeowner's insurance companies for quotes. (Recommendations welcome, if y'all have any.)
- Contact movers.
- Contact utility companies about shutting down utilities in B'more house
- Contact utility companies about setting up service in D.C.
- Figure out what to do about internet access in D.C. (DSL? Cable? Dunno yet.)
- Start packing!
- Run around in circles and flail a lot
