Ready for a litmus test?
When I've talked about the scans below with people, it's almost always a 50-50 response who they empathize more with and who they end up kind of growly at. So I think it's a pretty well-balanced scene, but...oh boy, do Clark and Bruce really manage to mess Christmas up between the two of them. Consider it a team effort.
It all starts with a Christmas present.
Gahhhhh! Clark's hideously shy and awkward body language as it dawns on him something's wrong! Bruce's rather desperate attempt to make up for his obvious rudeness by inviting Clark to the Manor for Christmas! Clark's epic fail rejoinder! *tries to smoosh them together and fails*

Clark spending Christmas with the Gordons at the Midway Orphanage is just perfect--and they're watching "It's a Wonderful Life," of course. And the individual snowflakes make a re-appearance, this time as paper cutouts...

There's something about that vacuum cleaner cord looping back to plug into the Bat-computer that's just perfect.

Those are the two orphans who drew the pictures you saw earlier--the Batman fangirl and Superman fanboy.
Clark decides to challenge the Bruce/beverage OTP by holding his mug tenderly as he mopes! And the tags still on his shiny new sweater...*dies*
