You can just tell there's a part of Bruce that really wants Clark to do this, to just swoop in and steal him away from some boring meeting and have his wicked way with Bruce. Not that Bruce will admit to that, of course. LOL
Oh good, I'm delighted that came across! I was a little afraid Bruce actually sounded relieved instead of "Grumble grumble damn Boy Scout..." :)
Clark making Bruce wave his hand made me laugh; it's such a CLARK thing to do.
It made me snicker; it's such a goofy, innocuous thing to do.
I think it's the most telling that it's not that Bruce chose to put down the switch and acknowledged his trust of Clark; it's that he trusts him on such a basic, implicit, unconscious level, that he isn't even aware of how he feels.
