Scans: Shogun of Steel Finale
Hoshi finally shows up to slug it out with Brainiac. As it turns out (what a surprise!), Brainiac has an ace up his sleeve--the Jade Blade, a sword forged of Kryptonite. He proceeds to beat Kal-El quite badly. This is an image-heavy post (seven below the cut) because I couldn't come up with a good way to trim things without losing too much.
Yeah, I'm as upset as you might imagine by that ending--what, my OTP's one chance at romance and you gotta kill one of them off, I get it.
On the other hand, the tone of the ending is faithful to the source material, which didn't tend to end with happy-ever-after either.
So...thanks for indulging me in running so much of this series! I love and am bothered by it in roughly equal amounts and wanted to share. :)
