Earth Day 2009 ("The Enviroshoot")
As anyone who knows me knows I am quite an lover of this little planet. I do my best to promote "Earth Day everyday" in my own little corner of the world. Today was an Earth Day like none before because I now have a little student to teach about loving the planet. Today, ever true to my greenie geek roots I dubbed today my "Enviroshoot" and photographed Mya in some Eco inspired shots. she was a wonderful subject (key was to spread it through the day between naps). I made her two eco onesies with iron ons. Here are the pictures:

I thought it would also be a good time to share some of my favorite Earth friendly products:
Mrs Meyers Clean Day Cleaners - I love these products! I am partial to the Lemon Verbana scent....so clean and lovely. Basil smells very cool nothing like you would expect...good for kitchen use. I have used the All purpose cleaner, Counter spray, Dish soap, Scrubbing Powder,Toilet Cleaner with wonderful results. I would only say nope to the dryer sheets (not very smelly). If you are thrifty and have room for extra Amazon sells some products in bulk.
Method - These are also great products and can be found more readliy at such places as major grocery stores and Target. I happen to love their Sweet Water scented soap in particular. I loved their dish soap but as cool as the packaging looked the the opening was a little annoying because it kept clogging.
Seventh Generation - This is a great company who makes really responsible products. They are easy to find in most grocery stores these days. They carry a wide range of products. I LOVE the Ruby Grapefruit and Herb window and all purpose cleaner, the smell is incredible and it works great! Check them out and give them a chance.
For the Body - Nubian Heritage - I found these products where they began...in the streets in my home town of Bronx NY sold by tabletop vendors. These soaps are Heaven, even on my very picky skin. They are so pure,smell gorgeous and last and last. Pick a scent that appeals to you and I can tell you your skin will love you for it.
P.S. The Ivorian Coco Butter one is scented Milk Chocolate...I think I know a few people who would appreciate that ;)
For the Face- Fresh - I have been a fan of their products for years. I adore that they use really natural ingredients and are so responsible. The Soy Cleanser is fantastic for any skin type and removes makeup as well. It is so gentle you can literally wash all over your eye with absolutely no irritation. Depending on your skin type you can pick what products work for you. I have combination skin and use the Umbrian clay face lotion, Lemon Oil Cleanser and Soy Cleanser. I also love the Sugar Face Polish and well everything *laughs*.
Envirosax - I found these on a great site Wishingfish and they are wonderful! I have had mine for over a year and they have gone through the wash and life and still look new. they also come in a really cute carrying case and roll up to super compact size. You can pick a set to match your personal style. What more could you ask for?
