Trip Photos Part Three of Three

Jul 29, 2007 20:37

Last one, I swear. I know I said I'd do this days ago, but I'm lazy. So I've got about eleven pictures left and I finally managed to get a video together of the trip. It's choppy, dizzying, ADD, and random in places, but if you're interested, it's under the cut. Nothing fancy with the editing, since cutting out unessential shit and getting subtitles on it took long enough. Oy!

I never took a pic of our B&B in Galway, and I'm not sure why. But this is a picture from the window of our room. It was the morning of the day we were leaving Ireland. Leave it to Ireland to be blazingly sunny the day we finally leave. Sigh.

This is the River Corrib, the river that runs through Galway. By the way, the drinking water in Galway is currently contaminated. As in don't brush your teeth with it or you'll get horrible diarrhea. Not fun.

Galway itself was super cute, actually. I would definitely go back despite the water problem. This is one of the little pedestrian streets.

This was me out at Salthill. Unfortunately, it was raining and cold and windy that day. My pants are rolled up to avoid getting them muddy in the sand. I imagine it would have been gorgeous if it wasn't so overcast.

I turned around in the previous picture and this was facing the sea. It was very bizarre and hollowed out building. It was just a facade and we thought it was cool.

We returned to London for three more days at the end. This is where we stayed, at my cousin's flat in Kentish Town. The trees in the distance are Hampstead Heath.

Camden Town on a Sunday... There's a little clip of it in my video, too.

One day, we got a free tour of Kew Gardens, which are apparently the world's largest botanic gardens. My cousin's ex is the guy in the water, and he works there. He let us in for free and then gave us a tour. Those lilypads were HUGE. My answer as to why is essentially: They are from the Amazon.

This is the understated palace the queen stays in when she visits the gardens. Nice, huh?

This is Shawna with a giant butt-shaped nut. Henceforth to be called the Butt Nut, a distant relative of the Penis Rock.

The Thames runs through Kew Gardens, and this is a picture of it. It was so amazingly beautiful and peaceful. I totally recommend a visit to Kew Gardens if you're ever in London. Really recommend.

Okay, and now the video (not sure how high the quality will be, though if you actually go to the page to watch it, the video might be larger and the words more legible if it's a problem):
