Can I have Dalek bubble bath?
So after a day of frolicking around in the gross weather in Salem, elrina753 and I rushed home to watch the season premiere of Who. Watched it once, watched the Sarah Jane dedication, watched the Confidential and then watched it again because we are BATSHIT. So here's a basic train of thought from the second viewing.
* AWWWWWW dedication to Lis. <3
* WHAT WHAT WHAT. NAKED DOCTOR. NAKED DOCTOR IN PAINTING. NAKED DOCTOR UNDER SKIRT.
* Amy and Rory's apartment is SUPER GORGEOUS. We have the same IKEA bookcase. OH SHIT THERE IS A LITTLE CENTURION ON TOP OF THE BOOKCASE. <3
* DOCTOR DIRTY IN WIFEBEATER IN WWII. I still didn't hear anything that was happening in this scene, but I take it it was unimportant.
* LAUREL & HARDY. YESSSSSS.
* Why does River need to be in a jail cell when she can OBVIOUSLY get out whenever she wants?
* LOLOLOL. How did they take a school bus to the middle of the desert? THAT'S NOT HOW THE BUS SYSTEM WORKS.
* PONDS. HUGS.
* I love River's obvious hatred for Eleven's hats. WHAT DID HIS HATS EVER DO TO HER.
* EASTER ISLAND. "They worshipped you there. Have you seen the statues?" LOLOLOLOL BRB DYING FOREVER.
* Eleven's obviously been experimenting with a straightner. Look at that hair!
* That was a really long cold open.
* Doctor boozing it up. Wait, not so much.
* ASTRONAUT IN WATER.
* TIMEY WIMEY. The Doctor's now 1103. STILL LYING about your age, Doctor, EH?
* Amy looks gorgeous in this episode.
* River is a terrible shot, unless she was hitting the dude and he just wasn't dying.
* My roommate's comment: "It figures that the Doctor would come all the way to America and would get shot."
* LOL I love the staggered shot at the Doctor's funeral pyre. IT'S LIKE A BAND ALBUM COVER.
* Jesus, Mark Sheppard's dad has a fucking awesome American accent. JUST LIKE HIS SON.
* This diner is so gloriously kitsche.
* THE DOCTOR DRINKS COKE, HE HAS EXCELLENT TASTE.
* Shit, River really smacked him.
* "He's done it before!" "In all fairness, the Universe did blow up." OH RORY.
* "Swear to me, swear to me on something that matters." "Fish fingers and custard." OH AMELIA.
* The American accents sound pretty good in this. Makes me wonder if they just hired American actors. The guy who plays Nixon was pretty all right, thought Confidential later confirms that he's American. And played other presidents. Fascinating.
* "Hippy!" "Archeologist." <3 <3 <3
* Oh shit, I love that the Doctor is doing things wrong on purpose to test River's knowledge of the TARDIS. He is sneaky sneaky.
* LOLOLOL the Doctor in the Oval Office, tip-toeing around and taking notes.
* LOLOL SLAMS FACE IN INVISIBLE!TARDIS.
* "RIVER, MAKE HER BLUE AGAIN."
* MARK SHEPPARD, YOU ARE A MOST EXCELLENT DUDE.
* "The Legs, the Nose and Mrs. Robinson." LOLOLOL.
* CREEPY!ALIEN IS CREEPY.
* Okay, when Amy started feeling sick this first time, I had that initial feeling of "OH GOD, DON'T MAKE HER PREGNANT, PLEASE." But then I forgot. OH GOD, THERE MUST BE A CREEPY ALIEN BEHIND ME MAKING ME FORGET.
* "Is that a mask? Is that a Star Trek thing?" That actress looks really familiar.
* That CIA guy kind of looks like Jon Hamm. NOT AS HOT.
* I love that Rory has to explain to Canton about the TARDIS because HE'S THE NEWBIE.
* Which presidents fancied the Doctor? My bet's on Jefferson for at least one.
* "How long has Scotland Yard had this?" YESSSSSSSSS. SECRET BRITISH TECH.
* LOL top notch slam on the Doctor, Amy.
* "Like your wheels." WE ALL DO, CANTON.
* Oh god, this forgetting the second your back is turned. THIS IS MY LIFE, YOU GUYS.
* "Don't worry, I'm *quite* the screamer." OH SHIT, RIVER. I LOVE YOU.
* Okay, now River is feeling sick. Which makes me curious about Amy's claim to pregnancy. Are both of them pregnant?
* It's kind of interesting that both River and Amy met the Doctor when they were "impressionable young girls", though Amy and the Doctor's storyline are linear whereas River's and his are not. Her little story to Rory makes me so sad, and her kind of guessing that she'll die the last time she sees the Doctor. If only you knew how right you were, River.
* OH SHIT, THAT ROOM THAT WAS ON TOP OF THE FLAT IN "THE LODGER" THAT LOOKS A BIT LIKE A TARDIS CONSOLE.
* It's a crime to get married? elrina753 theorizes it's a dude. I'd believe it.
* PLEASE DON'T BE REALLY PREGNANT, AMY. REALLY.
Wow. That... that was kind of amazing to watch. I'm in a Happy Place right now so I'm going to keep my reading of other peoples' reviews to a minimum. WHAT DO YOU MEAN I HAVE TO WAIT ANOTHER FUCKING WEEK?
Also, the Lis Sladen thing legit made me cry. I thought I was gonna be okay, but then when they played that music video and I knew they were gonna end with the "Goodbye, my Sarah Jane"... there may have been Something In My Eye for a moment.
