So, it's New Year's. I think I'm doing a last minute going-to-the-movies to see The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (FINALLY). I normally don't do anything for New Year's, but meh. I'm also planning on going up to LA on Friday night to see
lostsailors and
ladybrick and stay through Saturday for fun shenanigans.
I hardly ever do resolutions. That way, I don't feel guilty if I break something. I mean, there's the usual mentality I keep: stay positive (more or less check), stay healthy-ish (sorta check), be productive (check).
2008 was a good year, I think. I did things I've never done before. I gained friends, I lost friends. Despite the shit that went down in December (sorry, I'm being cryptic, but there are people here that know what's up), I'm in a happy place. It's been nice to visit my family and my dog, but I'm sort of excited to be getting back to NYC.
So, in conclusion... PICS.
This is looking up north towards Palos Verdes. Also, it's dead low tide and AWESOME.
This beach is just down the street from my house and is designated as "Dog Beach". It's a stretch by the cliffs where dogs are allowed to be off-leash and run on the beach. We've taken Gidget down a few times, but she's a rather embarrassing surf dog. Won't go in the water, has eaten sand and just sniffs EVERYTHING. Also, she doesn't interact with other pooches very well (she's a people dog, not a dog dog). Now she's too old to go down.
But I just love going down for a walk on the beach. There's usually a ton of people out and their dogs are just so excited to be out and running about and playing with everyone on the beach.
The wetlands across the street from our house. Dad says that they're working on getting rid of the oil stuff that's out there so it can be a protected wetlands. Something they've been working on for longer than I've been alive.
Also, I love that this picture is taken from the beach (sorta) and you can see snow on the mountains. My brother and his girlfriend went snowboarding a few times already since I've been here.
HAPPY NEW YEAR'S. I'm gonna go run errands.
