I watched Across the Universe last night with my lovely ladies. After having listened to the soundtrack for the entire day before I had actually seen the movie (not always the smartest move), I kept thinking to myself that if the movie sucked, at least the soundtrack was full of awesome. Hmm. I'm still not sure about seeing it. I'm a Fab Four Freak and not really a fan of their music being covered. The only cover I've ever liked was Fiona Apple's "Across the Universe." I'm still waiting to see "Love" whenever Cirque decides to come to town.

Maybe a rental then? At least that way it's not as expensive and you can stop if it's too much. It's definitely not a movie for everyone.

I've gotten over my distaste for covers over the past couple of years. I agree, I love the Fiona Apple version from Pleasantville. And I more or less liked the soundtrack from I Am Sam.

My parents got to see it. They said it was brilliant.
