Is this what bipolarity feels like?

I think I frightened qarylla with my enthusiasm over the last 24 hours, especially since one of the first things she did after getting home from game yesterday was to read my pouty LJ post from yesterday. She's never going to do anything nice for me again after the mega-glomp she got for suggesting that she'd make tiramisu ice cream.

Today I finally got to play the Order of the Stick Adventure Game. My partners in insanity: mr_q_o_p as Belkar (perfect fit), j1m_future as the ever-frustrated Lazuli Roy, dm_bashir as Elan (or Elaine or Ellen), Robo-goat as Haley, and airuvande, briefly, filling in for the felled-by-a-different-plague-than-Still-Places perillin, as Vaarsuvius. I of course was the dwarf, as no one else has the unique combination of short and fuzzy to accurately represent Durkon.

We decided to play the medium game, which was supposed to take 3-4 hours. But between dinner, trying to learn the rules on the fly (and occasionally failing) and whatnot, it took us from 2:30 until 9 to finish, and that was with skipping most of the rules after defeating Xykon. It was fun, mostly to see how badly we could screw Roy over (not always intentionally). One particularly nasty instance of the Horde ablity resulted in this (click for full carnage):

Poor Timmy.

Which is actually better than what happened to me when I finally breached the final level. Nothing like getting stuck making your own comabt harder because you have nothing in your hand that wouldn't boost the final boss. Eventually, everyone did get to the basement, and Belkar made an alpha strike with the foulest word in the history of mankind (don't ask mr_q_o_p what it is; he says you must be at least 373 in order to have the ability to withstand it). I ended up in second place; dm_bashir won based on a combination of being extremely helpful and spending half an hour looting the same room while the rest of us died over and over.

I'm definitely happy to have it, and will play again sometime when I find a larger table and have read the rules a few more times.
