An important lesson in character creation.
If you're playing a crunchy, level-based game like D&D, tailor your build to the power level of the game. If you are starting at level 1, a cool presige class will not do you much good for a very long time. Stick with something that is interesting right off the bat. If you will begin as an advanced character, do the fun build, complete with story as to how you end up that way, and don't worry much about how your character can get through a few angry goblins with the useless prerequisite feats.
