Thursday I did nothing. Lots of nothing. Very enjoyable. I rarely get to do nothing.
Friday afternoon, I was at the horribly run Bemani event with
jr_psykira,
georgy and Bridge Partner. It was moved from Saugus to Watertown, without a cooresponding update to the
webpage (which still has the wrong information). When we finally got there, it was half an hour late getting started and being run by people who had no idea what they were doing. Once things got started, it was fun - I got to try "Akumajo Dracula Medley" on the Xbox as well as embarrass myself singing and dancing to "Uptown Girl" in front of literally tens of mall patrons, and took home three CDs and two t-shirts. En route, we stopped at Fuddruckers, and I had ostrich topped by about a Saru-chan worth of veggies and ketchup; tasty yet expensive.
Bridge Partner didn't know there was TMBG on the Ultramix 3 song list, despite having had said list a week before I directed him to it.
After that, we headed to Zuma's, where we met up with
qarylla,
queenofpink77, Kirbymeister,
middle_sis, Little Brother and He-Who-Must-Not-Be-On-Time for dinner. More tasties were had (see below), after which we retired to Dorchester for attempting to stay awake. qarylla made something that could be second-best described as "pumpkin pie on top of cheesecake".
Saturday qarylla and I had
meranthi,
thastygliax, the Eagle and Blackbird, Kirbymeister, jr_psykira,
airuvande and two other people who think qarylla should run another game over to try recipes for Thanksgiving. The food vanished quickly. Various subsets of us played Apples to Apples and Gloom. The Blackbird also chased Saru-chan a bit, although she was not quite as loud as last time. She also enjoyed playing with the cat's toys.
I received stuff! Mega Man Battle Network 5 DS from georgy and Bridge Partner; two One Piece graphic novels from Little Brother; Stormwrack and Complete Adventurer from middle_sis and
crow112101; the new shiny blue Mage book and a book of sudoku from jr_psykira; The Incredibles and a Fraggle Rock (!!!! and it was as good as I remember, which I usually worry about when rediscovering my childhood) DVD from qarylla; Evil Dead 2 DVD from Kirbymeister and queenofpink77; a Best Buy gift card from
jen_lebon; and lots of Lego minifigs and accessories from thastygliax and meranthi. My friends are awesome. He-Who-Must-Not-Be-On-Time says he will have something for me as well, which mostly means that he's not losing this nickname anytime soon.
Sunday was much of the laziness again. Lots of reading/playing the above-mentioned books/games. I watched the MLS Cup, which was very exciting but had a suboptimal result. Today, back to work (or what passes for it).
All that good stuff I said in my diet update? Forget it. I had about 2 days' worth of food Friday, and regressed somewhat. Not enough to put me over my most recent magic number (185), but I am not happy with myself. I must work myself harder so I can disappoint myself again on Thanksgiving Day!
I signed up for
GameFly yesterday, and Shadow of the Colossus should be on its way to me now. How I'm going to fit it in between Dragon Quest VIII (which I am so buying tomorrow) sessions is beyond me.
