Overheard last evening...
Uncle 1: (pointing to the sky excitedly) Look rainbow!
Uncle 2: ya, ya... I saw it just now already!
Rainbows are enchanting stuffs. I mean, it is really cute to hear those manly uncles with body tatoos go gaga over rainbows.
I did not take a picture but here's one that I stole from a Facebook friend (actually with permission).
Nice right? Ok la... the actual thing looked nicer, really.
Scientifically, rainbows are explained by the fact that white light disperse into its seven component colours (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet) as it shines through a water droplet. We learnt that in secondary school and we even went through the trouble to memorise the seven colours. But whenever I see a rainbow, I would wonder where was the rain droplet that it originated from? But realistically, one would never be able to find that rain droplet where the rainbow started. Perhaps that is what people mean by looking for the pot of gold at the rainbow's end.
If you look at the photo closer, you can actually see two rainbows. This is actually a double rainbow. Yes, rainbows do come in pairs... awww.... so sweet.
