Summer in Sweden

May 23, 2009 17:54

It's something magic about summer in Sweden. Maybe because we live in cold most part of the year, so people really yearn for the sun and the bright season. You can say we have (or people think we have) summer as soon as the snow melts and the sun is showing. At least it is like that in Southern Sweden.

Or maybe we're just crazy, but the craziness starts already with the kids. If you make the mistake to allow them jackets off, let say one fine day in April, then it's impossible to convince them that it could be cold in May - even though it's windy and cloudy and rainy. T_T

SUMMER is...

... food. The scent of grilled meat combined with coal and smoke can make anyone happy (and hungry). Except those who hasn't any friends and thus are jealous of other people's happiness. O.o

Auntie looks really happy. No wonder, what is better than having barbeque in the garden when you're hungry? XD~
I really love this picture, she looks so happy.

... fruits. Tasty, sweet and juicy.

Actually, the typical summer fruit for me is strawberry, but it is still early for the Swedish ones.

... travelling and camping. You can see lots of camping wagons on the Swedish roads. They won't disappear until the leaves fall off the trees.

Ahlgren's cars. There is only one way to stop them - in the mouth! (weird I know, but it's not quite the same when said in English). ^^;

... to be barefoot and playing at the beach.

Shoes abandoned on the bridge while Jenny and I go down to the water. It's really cold. ^^;

... relaxing in the sun drinking alchohol. ^^

Well, I blame it all on Kame and his wine drama. On the table is white mulled wine, served cold, sweet cherry wine and baileys. Sipping wine in the sunshine gives adult points, you know... =P

Baileys, served with milk. XD

... playtime. Blowing bubbles is so much fun!  =))

Erica is playing...

... with Kame. XDDD~
See, we have the same kind of toy!  b( ^_^)d

... IKEA. Actually I don't know why, but it is. Trust me. =o)

How come everywhere in the world, IKEA is blue and yellow (the Swedish colours) except in Helsingborg? O.o
Maybe we are too close to Denmark...

Can you tell I'm longing for summer....? T___________T
