Sometimes I don't understand what is all this craze about phones and netbooks. I bought a netbook some time ago, but so far it has been pretty useless. The only time it came in useful is travel. During my daily life, i just don't need it at all, given that i am constantly surrounded by machines with bigger screens and are turned on all the time (no need to boot up).

A friend once said, "Macs are for wimps", the reason being that Macs tend to run on slower processors. Quite true, but I see that a lot of programmers actually like to use Macs because you can build linux apps better on Macs. Unfortunately, I have grown to dislike Apple because of one reason.

Apple is overly protective of its OS and phones. Even now, running MacOS on a self-assembled machine is no easy feat. They just want to make sure you buy every important PC component from them and their parts are not cheap. There's also the recent uproar (or perhaps not so recent) over some google's iPhone app being rejected. They have their reasons.. probably deals with AT&T. But I just find this kind of attitude distasteful.

Hence, for a long time, I am not going to buy anything Apple. I used a Mac many many years back before it became fashionable. Looking back, I find that crazy Mac fans are like Christian cultists who have been brainwashed into thinking that they own the best thing in the world, when they -- very sadly -- are not.

Google on the other hand is gaining much market share in everything they do, because they always make their products free and good. Their phones would come unlocked.
