So, let's see. Where was I?
Ah yes.
* I ended up with a B+ in my horrible Japanese language class, an A- in my thesis class, and As everywhere else (kanji, J-Lit, Astro Lab)
* I've discovered that I have Complex Posttraumatic Stress Disorder after living in such an unhealthy environment with my dad for so many years. One of my LJ-friends mentioned PTSD, which prompted me to look it up, and I'm so glad I did. I'll post more about it in the future, but for now I can say that realizing what's happening to me is helping so much. Everything makes a lot more sense now.
* Sam is awesome. I'm so lucky to have such a caring, compassionate, sweet, and supportive Significant Other.
* Over the last week (and particularly yesterday) I've been helping my developmentally disabled female friend get ready for prom. I got to flex my hair-and-makeup muscles from back in my theatre and choir days, we got our toenails done, and we had fun overall. I was really great to see how much she's grown-- she's not at the same level as the other kids (she's three points away from passing the HS exit exam), but she's getting there, and I was really proud to see her all dressed up and ready to go out.
* I discovered that a classmate-friend from two semesters ago is now working at the comic book shop that's about 3 blocks away. I'll be visiting there more often, I think. Although she says we can't be friends till I see Iron Man, and I've yet to see it, so...
* Speaking of movies, I've also yet to see Indiana Jones. Must. Go. See. Movie!
* Aaaaand the posters for the new Hellboy movie are popping up. Great. I wore my HB shirt to school a couple weeks ago, and now I'm retiring it until the movie blows over. *holds up a little "I'm in your fandom, hatin' your live-action movies" sign; grumbles*
*
Lolcats is awesome. Sam and I have been loving looking through it. He loves little cute animals as much as (and sometimes more than) I do. ^_^
* There are kittens near our apartment! Little black fuzzy ones, two of them, and they have a sleek black momma cat. I adore watching them play.
* Today we picked fresh blueberries. Mmmmmmm...
* I have always loved Bruce Coville's short stories (and I still go through the kids' sections in book stores to look for anything he may have recently published!). I'm working on "The Language of Blood" in Odds Are Good, and it is very good. EDIT: Man, some of Coville's stuff is dark. His books, not so much, but some of his short stories pack a major punch. o.o
* I tried these little fried mashed-potato-covered-ground-beef balls at a Cuban restaurant the other day, and man were they good. Also, Sansai, a Japanese restaurant chain, has really tasty 'Oriental Salad'.
* That's about it for now. Hope everyone is well!
