This morning I voted in my first presidential election.
Call me a silly idealist, but it felt really good. Like a coming-of-age -- more so than other landmarks, like turning eighteen, having sex, getting a driver's license, or going to college. Casting a vote actually affects the world beyond me. I just participated in something huge, which will decide the direction my country takes for the next four years. That's amazing.
I'm so happy that it was this one, too. Barack Obama, I give you my voting v-card with pride. ♥
To any U.S. citizen who hasn't: go vote! I don't care who for -- well, okay, I do, but you don't have to tell me who you vote for, so it's not as if it matters. Just get out there and make your voice heard.
