Twelve years on ...
Twelve years ago today the world rocked on its axis and things changed in a fundamental way. Travelling into London this morning I couldn't help but reflect on all that has transpired. I was still living in Canada on 9/11 and remember the utter disbelief and shock that reverberated throughout everyone around me as we watched was going on. Terrorist. A word we'd rarely given second thought to in North America became a part of our daily lives and remains so even today.
And I still remember those surreal moments in the days immediately following 9/11 when I'd look up at the silent sky above, empty of planes for the first time in my life. As the Doctor would say, there are certain fixed points in time. Twelve years ago today was one such point.
