Writing helps me think why my sister is nutty
I was writing about my sister's fussiness earlier today. Having thought about it about it for a couple of hours, I've figured out why she's been acting weird when we skype and I can about date it to the day when her daughter put an app on my sister's phone which allows her to track her husband's movements when he has his phone with him. So, if he's driving or going to the store or the doctor's office, she can track him, but if she's talking to me, she can't monitor his movements as well. She's basically so worried about him, so she's kind of obsessed. It gives her a feeling of control without there being any. It's not like she's gonna call 911.
I couldn't understand why after all the years we've skyped together, often daily, she now, last Friday for the first time in literally years, she now wants a text. I think she's embarrassed by her "stalking". I wouldn't be, but I think she thinks it stalkery and is embarrassed on some level. Her anxiety causes her to badmouth him, which she wouldn't(at least as much} if he were at home and she wasn't worried. So that's it. The app has changed her behavior. It's probably why she absolutely refuses to use her phone with me for video or audio calls, and Skype is horribly unreliable. Poor connection, dropped connections. Oh, well. At least I know why.
